An Appeal - School Renovation

Dear Sirs,

Contribution Form

The Hindu Theological Higher Secondary School is a well-known educational institution not only in Sowcarpet but also in North Chennai. The School building on Mint Street has become an easily recognized landmark in the area because of its standing for more than 100 years.

The school will be commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of its Founder, Sri Siva Sankara Pandyaji, from March 2003. Sri Pandyaji founded the school on the 14th of January 1889, during an era when Hindu religion was being decried and ridiculed. The objective of starting the school was to impart Hindu moral and religious education to students on a strictly national and non-sectarian basis.

Credit should go to Sri. Pandyajhi for having achieved this objective in his lifetime itself with a devoted band of eminent personae. The school had the good fortune of having had only educational and legal luminaries on its governing body, such as Dr. Radhakrishnan, Dr. C.P. Ramasamy Aiyar, to name a few, but also produced students who, in due course of time, became men of distinction and excelled in their chosen fields, and brought fame to the school.

In connection with these celebrations, the school's governing body had decided to carry out renovations to the buildings located on Mint Street as well as on Audiappa Street. Towards this end, we seek your munificent contribution.

You could also adopt a classroom for renovation through a donation of Rs.51,000/- or more and the school will put up a plaque proclaiming your munificence, and participation in renovation. A list of classrooms requiring renovation is given here.

I am sure that you will respond positively to this appeal and look forward to hearing from you at the earliest. Please do not hesitate to call me if any clarification is needed.

With my sincere greeting
Yours very truly
N.R. Dave,
President.
